![]() Storage Space & Bandwidth Internet storage consists of 2 parts, the first being the actual hard drive space (storage space) on our servers and a term called “bandwidth”. Bandwidth measures the amount of data you are transmitting over the Internet, and determines the telecommunications charge. This is charged per month, similar to your call charges on your home phone line. Every Internet Company uses bandwidth and every company will include an allocation even if it is hidden in the small print or you are paying an “all-inclusive” charge that includes “unlimited” bandwidth. To simplify matters and to keep costs down we include a monthly allocation equivalent to your storage space, which allows you to upload or download your whole disk storage allocation. So if you buy the 50MB package this includes 50MB of Drive (storage space) and a monthly allocation of 50MB per month bandwidth. This will allow you to either upload your full storage space allocation every month or download your storage space capacity of downloads per month. If you are using BackupAssured in the normal way then you will not use all of this capacity, but we have to limit this to prevent abuse of the system. Only if you abuse the system and consistently exceed your bandwidth limit will we contact you and suggest solutions. |
